Cochran, GA - The Knights were back on the field on Friday, March 15th as they finished off their conference series against the Tigers of Stillman College. The Knights won both games on Thursday and were looking to finish off the sweep.
The Knights would allow three hits to the Tigers before they would record their first hit in the game. The Knights would lead off the third inning with a double from
Datren Bray and a bunt single by
Hunter Noblitt would put runners on the corners. An RBI double by
Garrett Dennis would give the Knights a 1-0 lead and a wild pitch would allow another run to score to give the Knights a 2-0 lead. A two-run single by
Ryan Wilson would put the Knights up 4-0 and two subsequent walks would load the bases. A two-run single by
Brennon Williams and an error by the Tigers that would allow another run to score on the play would put the Knights ahead 7-0. An RBI single by Bray would finish off the scoring for the Knights in the third inning as they would hold an 8-0 lead. After giving up a run in the top of the fourth inning, the Knights would answer back with a two-run home run from Wilson and after a walk by
Zane Faulk, three consecutive wild pitches would allow him to score as the Knights would hold an 11-1 lead after four innings. The Knights would shut down the Tigers for the final three innings as they would win 11-1.
Alex Jarrell would get the win, throwing five innings of work allowing five hits and striking out five batters, with
Cauy Williams throwing two scoreless innings out of the bullpen.
The Knights record moves to 13-12 with the win as they will next play on Tuesday, March 19th when they travel to Lawrenceville, Georgia to take on the 2nd-ranked Grizzlies of Georgia Gwinnett College. First pitch is scheduled for 3 PM EST.
