Knights Split Tigers in SSAC Series of the Week

Cochran, GA - The Knights were back on their home field on Sunday, March 24th as they hosted the Tigers of Stillman College in the SSAC Series of the Week. The Knights were coming off of a road split against Brewton-Parker and would face a tough test as the Tigers were receiving votes in the latest NAIA polls.

Game One

The Knights would get off to a good start as they would score one run in the first inning on an RBI single by Madisyn Riggins and one run in the second inning on an RBI single by Carmen Phillips as the Knights would take an early 2-0 lead. The Knights  offense would stall as the Tigers would score two runs in the fifth inning and one run in the seventh inning as the Knights would be unable to answer and lose the game, 3-2.

Game Two

The Knights would fall behind early in the second game as the Tigers would score two runs in the first inning and the Knights would face an early 2-0 deficit. The Knights would erase the deficit in the second inning with RBI singles from Carmen Phillips and Taylor Layne as the game would be tied at 2-2. Both teams would struggle to produce any offense as the game would go into extra innings. The Knights would load the bases in the eighth inning as they would get a sacrifice fly from Christina Zeppa and the Knights would get the walkoff victory.

The Knights will be back in action on Thursday, March 28th as the will host the Firehawks of UT-Southern. First pitch is scheduled for 1 PM EST.
