Knights Split With Skyhawks

West Point, GA - The Knights were back in action on Thursday, March 7th as they traveled to West Point, Georgia to take on the Skyhawks of Point University. The Knights were looking to get back on track as they had lost their last three games.

Game One

The Knights got off to a great start as they would get two runners on base but would come away with no runs. The Knights would get another runner in scoring position in the second inning but no runs would get on the board. The Skyhawks would put a run on the board in the third inning but the Knights would answer back in the fourth inning with a two-run home run from Brennon Williams to take a 2-1 lead. The game would be tied at 2-2 in the bottom half of the inning but the Knights would score another two runs in the fifth inning after an error by the Skyhawks and a Yadiel Perez RBI double as the Knights would take a 4-2 lead. The Skyhawks would tie the game at 4-4 in the bottom half of the fifth inning but the Knights would answer back with a run in the sixth inning on an RBI single from Jacob Pierce and one run in the seventh inning on an error by the Skyhawks as the Knights would go on to win the game 6-4.

Game Two

The second game of the day would have much less action than the first game. The Knights would have opportunities to put runs on the scoreboard as they would get a runner on third in the third, fourth, and fifth innings but would be unable to put a run on the scoreboard. The Knights would break through in the sixth inning as they would load the bases and Garrett Dennis would hit a sacrifice fly to bring in a run and the Knights would take a 1-0 lead. The Knights would give up a run in both the seventh and eighth innings and they would go on to lose 2-1.

The Knights will wrap up the series on Friday, March 8th at 11 AM EST as they look to win the series against the Skyhawks.
