Knights Split With Nighthawks

Cochran, GA - The Knights were back on their home field on Friday, March 8th as they hosted the Nighthawks of Thomas University. The Knights were coming off of a road trip to Gulf Shores, Alabama that saw them go 2-2 as they looked for some offensive firepower.

Game One

The Knights would start off the first game of the doubleheader with some firepower as they would plate four runs in the first inning with a two-run single from Summer Lawrence and RBI singles from Alexis Cosgrove and Gabbie Haas as the Knights would take a 4-0 lead. The Knights would continue to add runs as they would score one run in the second inning on a Morgan Windham double and one run in the third inning on a bases loaded walk by Georgia Bice. The Knights would shut down the game as they would go on to win 6-0. Beth Eddins would pitch the complete game shutout, giving up three hits and striking out two batters.

Game Two

The Knights offense would show back up in the first inning of the second game as Cosgrove would hit a three-run home run to give the Knights a 3-0 lead. After giving up two runs in the third inning, the Knights would score one run in the fourth inning on a Caroline Albritton RBI single. The Knights offense would go cold again as the Nighthawks would score two runs in the fifth inning, and three runs in both the sixth and seventh innings as the Knights would go on to lose 10-4.

The Knights will look to correct some mistakes before they get back on the field on Tuesday, March 12th as they host the 3rd-ranked Grizzlies of Georgia Gwinnett College. First pitch is scheduled for 3 PM EST.
