Denmark, SC - The Knights hit the road on Friday, April 12th as they traveled to Denmark, South Carolina to take on the Tigers of Voorhees University as the Knights had a conference bye week. The Knights were looking to carry the momentum of their win over Thomas University earlier in the week to another win.
The Knights would get things started early as a RBI double by
Zane Faulk and an RBI single by
Jaiden Duarte would put the Knights up 2-0. The Knights would add another run on a solo home run by
Brennon Williams in the second inning and add two more runs in the third inning on a sacrifice fly by
Adam Alicea-Brooks and a failed pickoff attempt would allow
Zane Faulk to score as the Knights would take a 5-0 lead. The lead would continue to grow in the fourth inning as
Ryan Wilson would hit a three-run home run to give the Knights an 8-0 lead. The Knights would continue to add on runs with a two-run double in the fifth inning by
Yariel Diaz with the lead growing to 10-0. The Knights would put the game away in the sixth inning as they would score on an error by the Tigers, a two-run double by
Zane Faulk, and two-run singles by
Yariel Diaz and
Yadiel Perez to take a 17-0 lead and the Knights would go on to win by the same score.
Daniel Vos would get the win, throwing six innings and allowing three hits while striking out four batters.
The Knights will finish off the series on Saturday, April 13th with a doubleheader. First pitch is scheduled for 12 PM EST.
