Game Recap: Baseball |

Knights Split to Win Series Against Voorhees

Denmark, SC - The Knights remained on the road on Saturday, April 13th as they played a doubleheader to finish up the series against the Tigers of Voorhees University. The Knights won the first game of the series 17-0 so they looked to have the sweep well in hand.

Game One

The first game of the day would not start off like the Knights had hoped as the Tigers would get on the board in the first inning with two runs and would add another run in the third inning. The Knights would get one run back in the fourth inning on an RBI double by Brennon Williams but the Tigers would answer back in the bottom half of the inning with a run to make it a 4-1 game. The Knights offense would be unable to put anything together as they would go on to lose 4-1.

Game Two

The second game of the day would be more in favor of the Knights as they would score three runs in the first inning on a passed ball, an error, and a bases loaded walk as they would take a 3-0 lead. The Knights would add two more runs in the third inning on a two-run single by Hunter Noblitt and add another run in the fourth inning on an RBI single by Chaz Salter as the Knights would hold a comfortable 6-0 lead. The lead for the Knights would continue to grow in the sixth inning as three straight bases loaded walks would extend the lead to 9-0. After giving up three runs in the bottom half of the sixth inning, the Knights would put two runs on the board in the seventh inning on a two-run single by Chaz Salter and take an 11-3 lead and go on to win by the same score.

The Knights will be back in action on Tuesday, April 16th as they travel to Waleska, Georgia to take on the Eagles of Reinhardt University. First pitch is scheduled for 4 PM EST.
