Cochran, GA - The Knights were back on their home field on Tuesday, April 2nd as they hosted the 11th-ranked Eagles of Reinhardt University. The Knights were coming off of a disappointing weekend on the road and were looking to get a win before the weekend.
The Knights would get off to a rocky start as they would give up six runs in the top of the first inning but they would answer back in the bottom half of the inning with three runs on a
Chaz Salter solo home run and a two-run home run by
Zane Faulk. The Knights rocky start would continue into the second inning as the Eagles would put seven runs on the board and the Knights would be in jeopardy of the mercy rule. The Eagles would use the wind to their advantage as they would score one run in the third inning, three runs in the fifth inning, and one run in the sixth and seventh innings as the Knights would trail 19-3. The Knights would not go down without a fight as they would get a solo home run from
Hunter Noblitt and a grand slam from
Ryan Wilson to try and get within the ten rule mercy rule but the Knights would come up short as they would lose 19-8.
The Knights will be back in action on Friday, April 5th as they host the Firehawks of UT-Southern for an SSAC conference series. First pitch is scheduled for 3 PM EST.
