Cochran, GA - The Knights were back on the field on Saturday, April 20th as they finished off the SSAC series against the Eagles of Faulkner University. The Knights were playing the final home games of the season and were looking to go out on a high note.
Game One
The Knights and Eagles would be in for a great game as it seemed each team would have an answer for the other. The Eagles would score the first run in the second inning but the Knights would score a run in the bottom half of the inning with an RBI sacrifice bunt by
Adam Alicea-Brooks. The Eagles would put another run on the board in the third inning but the Knights would tie the game in the bottom half of the inning with an RBI single by
Zane Faulk. The Eagles would score two runs in the fifth inning and the Knights would get one back in the bottom half of the inning on a wild pitch as the Knights would trail 4-3. The Eagles would add a run in the sixth and two runs in the seventh to take a 7-3 lead. The Knights would put up a fight in the bottom half of the inning as they would close the gap to 7-6 with a three-run home run by
Zane Faulk and have runners on first and third with one out but would ground into the double play to end the game.
Game Two
The final game of the series would be all about the Knights. After giving up a run in the top of the first inning, the Knights would come back with three runs in the bottom half of the inning on a two-run double by
Ryan Wilson and on an error by the Eagles as the Knights would lead 3-1. The Knights would get another three runs in the second inning after a
Jacob Pierce two-run single and an error by the Eagles to take a 6-1 lead. The Knights would score one run in the third inning on a passed ball and seven runs in the fourth inning on a grand slam by
Zane Faulk and a three-run home run by
Jaiden Duarte to take a 14-1 lead. The Knights would add more runs in the sixth inning with home runs by
Zane Faulk and
Yariel Diaz, and RBI double by
Brennon Williams, and an RBI single by
Adam Alicea-Brooks. The Knights would shut the game down in the seventh inning as they would win the game 19-1.
The Knights record moves to 22-22, 13-14 SSAC as they head into the final regular season series when they travel to Mount Vernon, Georgia to take on the Barons of Brewton-Parker College on Thursday, April 25th. First pitch is scheduled for 6 PM EST.
