Mount Vernon, GA - The Knights were on the road on Thursday, April 25th as they traveled to Mount Vernon, Georgia to take on the Barons of Brewton-Parker College in the final series of the regular season. The Knights were looking to carry over some momentum from their last series as they made the final push towards the SSAC Tournament.
The Knights would get the scoring started in the second inning with a solo home run from
Yariel Diaz as they would take a 1-0 lead. The Barons would score two runs in the third inning to take a 2-1 lead but the Knights would answer back in the fourth inning with an RBi double by
Jaiden Duarte and a fielder's choice that would drive in another run as the Knights would hold a 3-2 lead. The Knights would extend their lead in the sixth inning with a three-run home run by
Jacob Pierce and a two-run single by
Brennon Williams as the Knights would take a commanding 8-2 lead. The Barons would score two runs in the bottom half of the sixth inning but it would be all the runs they would score as they Knights would shut the game down to win 8-4.
Daniel Vos would get the win after throwing five innings and
Evan Boyle would get the save after throwing four scoreless innings out of the bullpen.
The Knights will be back in action on Friday, April 26th as they return to Mount Vernon to finish out the series as they will improve their seeding for the SSAC Tournament. First pitch is scheduled for 12 PM EST.
