Thomasville, GA - The Knights were on the road for the final time this season as they traveled to Thomasville, Georgia to take on the Nighthawks of Thomas University. The Knights split the home series with the Nighthawks as they looked to keep their winning streak active.
Game One
The Knights would start the first game off with a double by
Gabbie Haas and a sacrifice bunt would move Haas to third but the Knights would come away with no runs. The Knights would threaten again in the second inning with a runner at third with two outs but would again come away with no runs. The game would move quickly as neither team could generate much offense. The Knights would get two runners on in the fifth inning but score no runs as the Nighthawks would break through in the bottom half of the inning with a run as the Knights would trail 1-0. The Nighthawks would add another run in the sixth as the Knights would lose the game 2-0.
Game Two
The Knights would have a better start to the second game of the series as they would score three runs in the second inning on a three-run triple by
Emily Proctor that would give the Knights a 3-0 lead. The Nighthawks would get a run back in the fourth inning but the Knights would score three more runs in the sixth inning on RBI singles by
Emily Proctor,
Gabbie Haas, and
Morgan Windham that would give the Knights a 6-1 lead. The Knights would add another run in the seventh inning with an RBI single by
Emily Proctor as the Knights would hold a 7-1 lead going into the last half inning of the game. The Nighthawks would score a run but the Knights would hold on for the 7-2 win.
The Knights will be back in action on Monday, April 22nd as they host the Cougars of Columbus State University. First pitch is scheduled for 2 PM EST.
