Savannah, GA - The Knights hit the road to start off the 2024 campaign as they traveled to Savannah, Georgia to take on the 16th-ranked Bees of SCAD-Savannah. The Knights have made it a tradition as of late to play the Bees early in the season. The Knights would look to upset the Bees and get the season off to a hot start.
The match would start off with the Knights playing in the defensive half as the Bees would fill up the stats sheet on offense. The Knights would get their first shot in the 30th minute off the foot of
Hanna Lemoine but would miss wide. A red card in the 31st minute would put the Knights down to 10 players on the field and force them to play conservatively. The Knights would have another chance in the 43rd minute with a shot by
Aroa Pena but the Bees keeper would make the save. The Knights would go into the halftime break down 2-0. The Knights would play much of the same story in the second half with two shots coming in the 60th minute, one by
Aroa Pena that was blocked by the Bees defense and one by
Julia Metzger that was saved by the keeper. The Bees would show why they were ranked as they would score four goals in the second half and the Knights would lose the game 6-0.
The Knights will return home as they open the home schedule on Monday, September 2nd when they host the Battlin' Bears of Rocky Mountain College. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 PM EST.
