West Point, GA - The Knights were on the road on Friday, September 13th as they traveled to West Point, Georgia to take on the Skyhawks of Point University. The Knights were opening their conference schedule and were looking to open up with a win.
The first set looked to tell the story of the match to come as the set would remain close throughout. The Skyhawks would jump out to a six point late in the set but the Knights would score seven straight points after a timeout as they would go on to win the set 25-23. The second set would start close but the Skyhawks would score seven straight points early in the set and the Knights would never recover as they would lose the second set 25-18. The Knights would look better in the third set as they would take an early lead and maintain the lead for most of the set but the Skyhawks would claw their way back as they would win the final four points of the set and the Knights would lose the third set 25-22. The fourth set of the night would get off to a slow start for the Knights as they would fall behind by 10 points early in the set but they would fight their way back into the match as they would trim the led down to one point but would simply run out of time as they would lose the set 25-23.
Caitlyn McCall Wolf and
Yanelis Rodriguez would lead the Knights with 10 kills,
Ellie Johnson had 23 assists while
Beau Houston had 15 assists, and
Paige Collier had 26 digs with Houston adding 10 digs.
The Knights will remain on the road on Saturday, September 14th as they travel to Marietta, Georgia to take on the Running Eagles of Life University. That match is set to tip off at 1 PM EST.
