Montgomery, AL - The Knights were back on the road on Saturday, September 21st as they traveled to Montgomery, Alabama to take on the Eagles of Faulkner University. The Knights went into the match on a two game winning streak and looked to stay undefeated in conference play.
The Eagles would get off the first shot but the Knights would take over the match on offense after five minutes of play. The Knights would get off five shots in the first half but none would find the back of the net and the match would remain tied at 0-0 going into halftime. The Knights would continue to have possession of the ball in the second half but would not get off their first shot of the second half until the 66th minute when
Safiya Dean would fire off a shot that would find the net and put the Knights up 1-0. The Knights would not have to wait long to extend their lead as
Aroa Pena would score a goal in the 72nd minute to put the Knights up 2-0. The Eagles would strike back quickly to cut the deficit down to 2-1 but the Knights would keep the Eagles from scoring in more goals and the Knights would win the match 2-1. The Knights outshot the Eagles 10-7 with both keepers making four saves.
The Knights extend their winning streak to three matches as they continue their conference road trip on Thursday, September 26th with a matchup against the Crusaders of William Carey University. That match will start at 6 PM EST.
