Macon, GA - The Knights were on their home court on Saturday, September 21st as they hosted the Barons of Brewton-Parker College. The Knights were coming off of a close loss to Savannah State and were looking to correct some mistakes.
The Knights would get off to a good start as they would win the first three points of the first set and would jump out to a five point lead. The Barons would make the set close as they would tie the set at 12-12 but the Knights would regroup and pull away as they would win the set 25-21. The second set would see the Knights take another early lead but the set would be played close as neither team would pull away from the other until late when the Knights would separate themselves and win the set 25-20. The third set would be played close early but the Knights would face an 8-6 deficit before scoring five straight points to take the 11-8 lead. The Knights would continue to lead throughout the set as they would win 25-21 and win the match 3-0.
Yanelis Rodriguez led the Knights with 14 kills with
Mia Matheney adding 10 kills,
Ellie Johnson led with 37 assists, and
Paige Collier led with 14 digs.
The Knights get their first conference win of the season as they will be back on the court on Friday, September 27th when they host the Skyhawks of Point University. That match is set to tip off at 6 PM EST.
