Albany, GA - The Knights were back on the court on Tuesday, September 3rd as they traveled to Albany, Georgia to take on the Golden Rams of Albany State University. The Knights were hungry for a win after two close matches over the weekend.
The Knights would open the match with a 4-0 deficit but would come back to make it a 5-4 match. The Knights would drop four straight points as the Golden Rams would win the first set 25-18. The second set of the match would start off with both teams winning points before the Golden Rams would win five straight points to take a 9-4 lead over the Knights. The Knights would fight to come back but the deficit would be too much to overcome as they would lose the second set 25-17. The third set would open with the Golden Rams winning the first three points with the Knights falling behind 16-7 later in the set. The Knights would not give up as they would close the gap down to 23-22 but would run out of gas as they would lose the third set 25-23.
Yanelis Rodriguez and
Caitlyn McCall Wolf led the Knights with seven kills,
Ellie Johnson had nine assists, and
Paige Collier had 15 digs.
The Knights will have a week to rest and prepare as they host the Tigers of Savannah State University on Tuesday, September 10th in the first home match of the season. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 PM EST.
