Valdosta, GA - The Knights were back on the road on Thursday, September 5th as they traveled down I-75 to Valdosta, Georgia to take on the Blazers of Valdosta State University. The Knights would have a tough task ahead of them playing an NCAA D-II opponent.
The Knights would be on the defensive side of the ball from the start as the Blazers would take control of the game early. The Knights would find themselves behind on the scoreboard after a goal in the 12th minute off of a corner kick. The Knights would get a shot off in the 26th minute by
Nicole Beasley but the shot would be saved by the Blazers keeper. The Knights would get back on defense and would keep the Blazers from extending their lead as the deficit would be 1-0 at halftime. The Knights defense would continue to have to play strong in the second half with the Blazers continuing to put the pressure on the Knights. The Blazers would score two goals in the second half with the Knights only shot of the half coming off of the foot of
Keira Borngesser but the shot would go wide. The Knights would lose 3-0.
The Knights will return home for their next game as they get set to take on the Golden Rams of Albany State University on Saturday, September 7th. Kickoff is scheduled for 4 PM EST.
