Cochran, GA - The Knights were back in action on Saturday, January 4th as they hosted the Barons of Brewton-Parker College. The Knights were coming off of an exhibition game on Thursday with their last countable game being a two point loss to Dalton State.
The Barons would make an early basket but the Knights would score the next six points to take a 6-2 lead. The Barons would surge back with the game remaining close until the Knights would retake the lead with 15:12 remaining in the first half. The Knights would start to gain some momentum, using an eight point run, to take a nine point lead with 8:45 remaining in the half. The lead would grow to as many as 12 points before the Knights would head into halftime up 44-36. The Barons would score eight unanswered points to start the second half with the game tied at 44-44. The Knights would regain their momentum as they would quickly get a double digit lead. The lead would be cut down to four points but the Knights would surge again as they would go up by as many as 18 points and finish with the 97-81 win.
Milique Smith led the Knights with 29 points and 20 rebounds with
Bryce Turner adding a double-double of his own with 20 points and 10 rebounds.
Nick Cham would add 21 points off of the bench.
The Knights will be back at home on Tuesday, January 14th as they host the Eagles of Faulkner University with tip off scheduled for 7:30 PM EST.
