Men's Basketball Season Starts With A Loss

YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. - The 2025-26 Men's Basketball season tipped off on Friday night as the Knights headed to Young Harris, Georgia to take on the Mountain Lions of Young Harris College. The Knights were looking to use last year's success as a stepping stone to more success at a higher level of play.

The Mountain Lions scored the first four points of the game before the Knights made their first free throw of the night for their first point of the new season. The Knights had a tough time keeping pace with the Mountain Lions as they faced a double digit deficit early in the first half. The deficit grew to 20 points with 7:26 remaining in the first half before the Knights started to hit their stride. The Knights started to make up ground on the Mountain Lions with a 16-4 run in the final minutes of the half to cut the lead down to 40-32 at the halftime break. After hitting their first shot of the second half, the Knights saw the Mountain Lions push their lead back out to double digits. The lead grew to 12 points before the Knights started to chip away and get themselves back in the game. It took some time but the Knight were able to cut the lead down to two points with 5:49 remaining in the game. The Mountain Lions used a 12-4 run to finish the game and the Knights lost 74-64.
