Women's Basketball Have Big Day Over Tornadoes

HARROGATE, Tenn. - The Knights were back on the court on Saturday as they looked to notch another win, this time against the Tornadoes of King University. The Knights won a close game on Friday to get their first win of the season.

The Knights got going early as they opened the game on an 11-0 run. The Tornadoes cut the lead down to six points but the Knights started to hit their shots and closed out the first quarter with a 31-16 lead. The Knights kept the pressure up in the second quarter as both teams lost their shooting touch. The Tornadoes cut the lead down to 11 points late in the second quarter but the Knights hit two free throws before the break to lead 39-26. The lead was cut down to ten points in the third quarter but the Knights used a 9-0 run to pull further ahead and end the third quarter with a 20 point lead. The Knights continued to dominate the game in the fourth quarter as they kept pulling away from the Tornadoes and led by as many as 30 points en route to the 80-54 victory. Ellie Southards led the Knights with 19 points and Cali Levine added 15 points, each player hitting five shots from beyond the three-point line. Kennedi Hawkins scored nine points and grabbed 10 rebounds.

The Knights will return home to rest before heading back out on the road on Thursday, November 20th as they head to Augusta, Georgia to take on the Lions of Paine College. Tip off is scheduled for 6 PM EST.
