COCHRAN, Ga. - The Knights were on their home court for the first time this season on Monday night as they hosted the Tigers of Voorhees University. The Knights were coming off of an overtime win over the Hawks of Shorter University and were looking to get another win at home.
The Knights quickly jumped out to a nine point lead early in the first half before the Tigers would cut the lead down to six points. The Knights got hot from the field as their shots kept falling and the Tigers went on a cold streak as the Knights pulled ahead. The lead continued to grow late into the first half with the Knights holding a 29 points lead before the Tigers scored the final four points of the half and the Knights led 51-26 at halftime. The Knights shooting cooled off in the second half as the Tigers slowly started to creep their way back into the game. The lead went under 20 points with 11:25 left in the game and the Tigers pulled to within 13 points before the Knights started to pick up the pace. The lead started to stretch back out late in the game and the Knights went on to win 89-68.
Krishen Atwal led the Knights with 26 points and
Greg Jones recorded a double-double with 17 points and 12 rebounds.
Joshua Robertson added 15 points and
Daniel Lamonte put up 10 points off of the bench.
The Knights will be back in action on Wednesday, November 19th when they take on the Blazers of Valdosta State University. Tip off is scheduled for 7 PM EST.
