COCHRAN, Ga. - The Knights were back in action on Saturday as they hosted the Sand Sharks of USC-Beaufort. The Knights came into the matchup having won their previous two games and looked to grab another win to keep moving up the Peach Belt Conference standings.

The Knights started off the game taking the lead with the first four points of the game before the Sand Sharks scored six straight points to put the Knights down by two points. The Knights hit a three-pointer to regain the lead but a nine point run by the Sand Sharks put the Knights down by eight points. The Knights closed the deficit down to three points before the end of the first quarter and trailed 15-12. The deficit grew to seven points in the second quarter but the Knights continued to fight back as they were able to get within one point of the Sand Sharks before the half ended with the Knights trailing 26-23.

The Knights came out of the halftime break ready to go as they quickly regained the lead and pulled away from the Sand Sharks as they held a nine point lead before the Sand Sharks used two free throws late in the quarter to cut the Knights lead down to seven points heading into the fourth quarter. The Knights were able to get their lead back to nine points with 4:13 left in the fourth quarter before the Sand Sharks started to put together a run late in the quarter that saw them take the lead with :29 left in the game and the Knights lost 62-59.

Mireia Pou led the Knights with 12 points and four assists as Mauryah Jones had 11 points off the bench and Ella Pritchard had 10 points and nine rebounds.

The Knights will be back on the court on Wednesday, December 17th as they host the Saints of Flagler College. Tip off is scheduled for 5:30 PM EST.
