COCHRAN, Ga. - The Knights were back at home on Saturday as they played host to the Pacers of USC-Aiken in the first Peach Belt Conference home game of the season. The Knights were looking to get back on track with a win after losing on the road to Georgia Southwestern.
The Knights started off the game scoring the first five points and looked to be off to a better start. The Pacers were able to take the lead with 14:49 remaining in the first half as the game went back-and-forth between the two teams. The Pacers were able to use an eight point run to pull ahead of the Knights before the Knights cut the lead down to five points at halftime, trailing 27-22.
The Pacers looked in control of the game to start the second half as they extended their lead to 14 points with 13:44 remaining in the game. The Knights found a way to get back in the game as they cut the lead down to four points late in the second half. The Knights continued to try and chip away at the lead as they got within one point but were never able to take the lead back as they lost the game 68-65.
Greg Jones led the Knights with 28 points and 10 rebounds, his second double-double of the season, as
Joshua Robertson added 11 points and
Krishen Atwal added 10 points.
The Knights will be back in action on Tuesday, December 9th as they head to Milledgeville, Georgia to take on the Bobcats of Georgia College. Tip off is scheduled for 7:30 PM EST.
