Cochran, GA - The Knights were back on the field on Saturday, February 1st as they hosted Spartanburg Methodist College and Brewton-Parker College for the second consecutive day. The Knights were looking to replicate their results from Friday.
The Knights offense looked to pick up where they left off on Friday as they scored two runs in the first inning on an RBI single by
Zane Faulk and a fielders choice. The Knights gave the two runs back in the second inning and the game moved along quickly. The Knights regained the lead in the fifth inning on a sacrifice fly by
Brennon Williams and they extended their lead in the sixth inning on a
Jose Vargas RBI single. The Knights closed out the game keeping the Pioneers off the scoreboard and win 4-2.
Titus Richardson got the win pitching three innings of relief and
Carter Oglageo recorded the save.
The second game of the day started off sour for the Knights as they gave up three runs in the first but they scored two runs in the bottom half of the inning, both on errors, to close the gap to 3-2. The Knights grabbed the lead in the fifth inning on a two-run single by
Datren Bray, taking a 4-3 lead. The Barons scored six runs over the final four innings as the Knights lost 9-4.
The Knights will be back in action on Tuesday, February 4th as they travel to Emerson, Georgia to take on the Tornadoes of Talladega College. First pitch is scheduled for 4 PM EST.
