Cochran, GA - The Knights were back at Stuckey Field to close out their weekend series with the Skyhawks from Point University. The Knights and Skyhawks split the doubleheader on Friday and the Knights were looking to come away with the series win.
The Skyhawks scored one run in the first inning but the Knights answered back in the second inning with a sacrifice fly by
Teonis Pimentel to tie the game at 1-1. The Knights scored two runs in the third inning on a Chaz Slater RBI double and a
Michael Flaherty RBI single to take a 3-1 lead. The Skyhawks scored five runs in the fifth inning to take a 6-3 lead over the Knights but an RBI groundout by
Zane Faulk in the fifth inning and a bunt single by Pimentel in the sixth inning that pushed two runs across tied the game at 6-6. The Skyhawks had an answer as they scored seven runs in the seventh inning to take a 13-6 lead. The Knights scored two runs in the bottom half of the inning on a Faulk RBI single and a bases loaded walk to cut the deficit to 13-8. The Skyhawks put the game away with three runs in the ninth inning and the Knights lost 16-8.
The Knights will hit the road for their next game as they travel to Pulaski, Tennessee for a weekend series against the Firehawks of UT-Southyern on Friday, March 7th. First pitch is scheduled for 2 PM CST.
