Thomasville, GA - The Knights were back in action on Tuesday, March 11th as they traveled to Thomasville, Georgia to take on the Nighthawks of Thomas University. The Knights and Nighthawks were playing a mid-week non-conference game as the Nighthawks are an SSAC opponent.
The Knights got off to a good start as they got a leadoff single from
Chaz Salter and he would make it to third base but was stranded at the end of the inning. The Knights had another opportunity in the second inning after an error and single set up
Robert Fredericks IV for an RBI groundout to give the Knights a 1-0 lead. The Knights continued to give themselves scoring chances as they had runners on second and third with no outs in the fourth inning but could not find a way to bring the runners across the plate. The game moved fast before the Knights scored another run in the eighth inning after a double and two walks loaded the bases for
Teonis Pimentel to hit a sacrifice fly and give them a 2-0 lead. The Nighthawks cut into the lead in the bottom half of the inning with a solo home run but the Knights pitching staff shut things down as it would be the only hit on the night for the Nighthawks and the Knights won 2-1.
The Knights will be back in action on Friday, March 14th as they travel to Lawrenceville, Georgia to take on the 4th-ranked Grizzlies of Georgia Gwinnett College. First pitch is scheduled for 5 PM EST.
