Cochran, GA - The Knights were back at Stuckey Field on Friday, April 25th as they closed out the regular season with two games against Brewton-Parker College. The Knights won the first game of the series and were looking to take the series on Friday.
The first game moved along quickly as neither team scored until the fourth inning when the Barons scored three runs. The Knights answered back in the bottom half of the inning with a two-run single by
Connor Shealy. The Knights grabbed the lead in the fifth inning with a two-run single by
Michael Flaherty and a sacrifice fly by
Teonis Pimentel and the Knights held a 5-3 lead. The Barons scored two runs in the sixth inning to tie the game at 5-5 but the Knights got an RBI double from
Brennon Williams and an RBI single from
Michael Flaherty to take a 7-5 lead. The Barons rallied in the seventh inning to score three runs and the Knights were unable to score in the bottom half of the inning as they lost 8-7.
The final game of the series saw the Barons score three runs in the first inning. The Knights put up a fight as they scored six runs on a two-run home run from
Jaiden Duarte, a two-run triple by
Seve Fernandez, and RBI singles by
Datren Bray and
Josh Cunniff. The Barons scored one run in the second inning, four runs in the third inning, and five runs in the fifth inning to take a 13-6 lead and the Knights were unable to score any runs as they lost the game.
The Knights will be back in action on Wednesday, April 30th as they travel to Jackson, Tennessee to play in the 2025 SSAC Tournament. The Knights will be the 5-seed in the tournament and will play the 4-seed Stallions of Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College. Game time has not been set at this time.
