Decatur, AL – The Knights were on the road on Thursday, May 1^st as they headed to Decatur, Alabama to take part in the 2025 SSAC Softball Tournament. The Knights won the SSAC Regular Season title and were looking to add the Tournament title to their trophy cabinet.
 
The Fillies got on the scoreboard in the first inning with one run but the Knights had a response. The Knights led off the second inning with a single by Grace Avery and a sacrifice bunt by Kaylee Oliver. A single by Alexis Cosgrove put runners on the corners for Mel Bullock to hit an RBI single. An RBI groundout by Madisyn Riggins put the Knights out front 2-1. A two-run single by Gabbie Haas and an error by the Fillies added another run and the Knights had a 5-1 lead. The continued to add on to their lead with a Carmen Phillips RBI single in the fourth inning, an RBI double by Alexis Cosgrove in the fifth inning, and an RBI single by Madison Cosgrove in the sixth inning to give the Knights an 8-1 lead. Emily Proctor started the game in the circle, pitching five innings and striking out six batters. Sarah Latham pitched the final two innings as the Knights won 8-3.
 
The Knights will be back in action on Friday, May 2^nd as they play the 4-seed Firehawks of UT-Southern at 10 AM CDT.
