WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - The Knights hit the road for the first time this season on Friday as they headed down to West Palm Beach, Florida to take on the Sailfish of Palm Beach Atlantic University. The Knights earned draws in their first two games of the season and looked to finally break through for their first win of the season.
The Knights faced an early deficit with the Sailfish scoring a goal just 96 seconds into the match. The Knights settled in to the match as they kept the Sailfish from adding to their lead but the Knights were unable to score the equalizer and went into halftime down 1-0. The Sailfish came out of the break looking to add to their lead but the Knights were able to take advantage of their chances as
Safiya Dean tied the match in the 59th minute and Dean put the Knights ahead in the 86th minute. The Sailfish kept attacking but the Knights were able to hold them off to win the match 2-1.
The Knights were outshot 19-7 in the match and 11-3 in shots on goal. The Knights end their road trip on Sunday as they face the Buccaneers of Barry University. Kick off is scheduled for 11 AM EST.
