Knights Draw With Buccaneers

MIAMI, Fla. – The Knights finished off their weekend road trip in Miami, Florida on Sunday as they were set to take on the Buccaneers of Barry University. The Knights won their first match of the season on Friday against Palm Beach Atlantic University and were looking to notch another victory on Sunday.
 
The Knights fell behind early in the match with the Buccaneers attacking early and often and the Buccaneers scored in the sixth minute of the match to put the Knights behind 1-0. The Knights faced more shots before their opportunity came in the 18th minute as Annaliese Agler found the back of the net to tie the match at 1-1. Both teams had more chances in the first half but neither team could capitalize as the match remained tied at 1-1 going into the halftime break.
 
The second half started with the Buccaneers looking to attack early as they were offside multiple times. The Knights found a scoring chance in the 59th minute and they were able to put the ball past the keeper with a header from Tegan Mullins to go up 2-1. The Buccaneers kept their attack going and were able to tie the match at 2-2 in the 70th minute. The Knights last shot of the match came in the 74th minute and was saved by the Buccaneers keeper but the defense and keeper for the Knights matched the Buccaneers as the match ended in a 2-2 draw.
 
The Knights were outshot 14-6, 7-4 shots on goal but Hollie Keefe made five saves.
 
The Knights will be back on the pitch on Saturday, September 20th as they will host the Saints of Flagler College. Kick off is scheduled for 1:30 PM EST.
