MARIETTA, Ga. - The Knights were back in action on Friday as they traveled to Marietta, Georgia to take on the Running Eagles of Life University. The Running Eagles are a familiar foe to the Knights having spent the last few seasons in the same conference. The Knights were hoping a new look would bring about good luck in the results.
The first set was one to forget for the Knights as the Running Eagles won the first six points of the set and never looked back as the Knights lost 25-10.
The Knights fell behind early in the second set but were able to find some offense as they tied the set at 9-9. The Running Eagles used a four point run to pull ahead of the Knights as the Knights lost the second set 25-19.
The Knights had their best start of the night in the third set, jumping out to a 6-3 lead. The Running Eagles won six of the next seven points but the Knights kept them within reach. Both teams traded points throughout the set as the Knights tried to force a fourth set but the Running Eagles wound up the victors as the Knights lost the third set 25-22.
McCall Wolf led the Knights with eight kills as
Graysen Lallier and
Paisley Ferguson each added six.
Aubrie Beard led the way with 15 assists and
Ellie Johnson led with 11 digs.
The Knights will be back on the court on Tuesday, September 16th as they head to Albany, Georgia to take on the Golden Rams of Albany State University. Tip off is scheduled for 6 PM EST.
