LAKE WALES, Fla. – The Knights were back on the pitch on Saturday as they finished up their Florida road trip with a match against the Royals of Warner University. The Knights were looking to stay undefeated before heading into conference play.
The Knights were on attack from the starting whistle, getting off two shots before they found the back of the net in the seventh minute off the foot of
Jatniel Ardila, his second goal of the season. The Royals were able to answer back in the tenth minute to tie the match up at 1-1 before the Knights got back on the attack. The Knights attempted plenty of shots in the first half before finally breaking through in the 36
th minute with a goal from
Samuel Hoyos to put the Knights up 2-1. The score remained 2-1 heading into the halftime break and the Knights came out of the break playing physical, committing a number of fouls against the Royals. The physical play paid off as the Knights scored their third goal of the game in the 77
th minute off the foot of
Branden Glover. The Knights continued to attack and scored another goal from Carlos Hernandez as the Knights went on to win 4-1.
The Knights dominated the Royals, outshooting them 26-7 and 14-3 in shots on goal.
The Knights will be back on the pitch on Wednesday, September 17
th as they open Peach Belt Conference play at home against the Hurricanes of Georgia Southwestern. Kick off is scheduled for 7 PM EST.
