COCHRAN, Ga. - The Knights were back on their home pitch on Saturday as they hosted the Hurricanes of Georgia Southwestern. The Knights were coming off of two shutouts and were looking to get their offense on the right track.
The Knights got off two shots within the first ten minutes of play but the Hurricanes controlled the ball for most of the first half. The Knights grabbed the lead in the 40th minute with a goal from
Madison Giron and the Knights had a 1-0 lead going into halftime.
The Knights had to stay strong defensively as the Hurricanes came out of the halftime break looking to score the equalizing goal. The Hurricanes scored the goal in the 51st minute and continued to press the Knights. The defense came together to keep the Hurricanes from taking the lead and the game ended in a 1-1 draw.
The Knights were outshot 15-4, 6-2 in shots on goal as
Hollie Keefe made five saves.
The Knights will be back in action on Wednesday, October 1st as they host the Sand Sharks of USC-Beaufort (7-1). Kick off is scheduled for 5:30 PM EST.
