GREENWOOD, S.C. - The Knights got back to work on Saturday as they faced off against the Bearcats of Lander University in Greenwood, South Carolina. The Knights were coming off of a big win against North Georgia while the Bearcats had won their previous two games.
The Knights faced an early deficit as the Bearcats could not miss from beyond the three point line and the Knights were down 15 points within four minutes of play. The Knights fought back to try and get back in the game as the cut the deficit down to seven points with 9:38 left in the half. The Bearcats extended the lead back to 13 points and the Knights deficit remained at 13 points heading into halftime.
The second half was filled with runs from both teams as the Knights closed the gap before the Bearcats extended the lead back out. The Knights cut the lead down to 10 then the Bearcats pushed the lead out to 19 points. The Knights fought back to cut the lead to 12 points but another run by the Bearcats back out to 19 points. Another run by the Knights brought the deficit down to 13 points but the Bearcats got on another run as they pulled away from the Knights and the Knights lost the game 107-83.
Nick Cham led the Knights with 15 points off the bench as
Milique Smith and
OT Delancy each added 14 points and
Joshua Robertson scored 11 points.
The Knights will be back in action on Wednesday, January 21st as they take on the Cougars of Columbus State University. Tip off is scheduled for 7:30 PM EST.
