COCHRAN, Ga. - The Knights were back on the court on Saturday after a long holiday break as they hosted the Jaguars of Augusta University. The Knights won their previous game against Flagler College while the Jaguars lost their previous game against Columbus State.
The Knights went down early after the Jaguars hit a three pointer at the start of the game. The Knights were able to cut the lead down to one point with 14:14 left in the half but the Jaguars caught fire and raced ahead. The lead grew to 19 points with 1:08 remaining in the half before the Knights scored the final six points of the half to cut the lead down to 43-30 at halftime. The Knights looked to make adjustments during the break as they were outrebounded 20-9 in the first half.
The Knights carried their momentum into the second half as they slowly chipped away at the Jaguars lead and tied the game at 51-51 with 13:02 remaining in the game. The Jaguars found some offense as they jumped back out to a four point lead but the Knights brought them back and took the lead with 8:57 remaining. The Knights kept their foot on the gas as they built an eight point lead. The Jaguars cut the lead down to four points but the Knights scored the final four points of the game as they won 76-68.
Joshua Robertson led the way for the Knights with 24 points as
Krishen Atwal added 17 points and
OT Delancy added 12 points.
The Knights will return to action on Saturday, January 10th as they head to Morrow, Georgia to take on the Lakers of Clayton State University. Tip off is scheduled for 3:30 PM EST.
