COCHRAN, Ga. - The Knights were in action at home for the final time this regular season as they hosted the Nighthawks of North Georgia. The Knights needed a win to put themselves in a great position for the PBC Tournament heading into the final weekend while the Nighthawks looked to lock up the 2-seed.
The Nighthawks controlled the ball for the first 30 minutes of the first half as they tried to take the lead. The Nighthawks grabbed the lead in the 35th minute on a free kick that was perfectly placed in the top right corner of the goal as the Knights fell behind 1-0. The deficit remained heading into halftime as the Knights looked to make adjustments to be able to even the match up. The Nighthawks were able to score again in the 61st minute after a blocked shot deflected to another player for the goal. The pace of play picked up in the final 30 minutes of the match as the Knights were able to draw a penalty kick in the 74th minute that
Carlos Hernandez Buchanan converted to pull the Knights back to within one goal. Both teams fought hard for the ball in the final minutes as the Knights were unable to draw even with the Nighthawks.
