COCHRAN, Ga. - The Knights were back at home for the final time of the opening season home stand as they hosted the Hawks of Shorter University. The Knights were looking to ride a wave of momentum after defeating Eckerd in their previous game while the Hawks had started off the season 4-0.

The Knights got out to an early lead after an RBI single by
Justin Aponte and a sacrifice fly by
Patrick Crosby put the Knights up 2-0. After the Hawks scored one run in the third inning and four runs in the fifth inning, the Knights got one run back on an RBI single from
Teonis Pimentel to cut the deficit to 5-3. The Hawks added on two more runs in the sixth inning and one run in the eighth inning to put the Knights down 8-3. The Knights threatened in the ninth inning after an RBI single by
Sebastian Collender cut the lead to 8-4 and they loaded the bases to bring the tying run to the plate but were unable to score any more runs as the Knights lost 8-4
