GREENWOOD, S.C. - The Knights hit the road on Friday, February 13th as they got set to take on the Bearcats of Lander University in their Peach Belt Conference opener. The Knights were coming off of a loss to Shorter University in a mid-week game while the Bearcats had won their previous three games.
Game Recap
The Bearcats got on the board first in the first inning after a wild pitch allowed them to score to put the Knights behind 1-0. The game was quiet until the fifth inning when the Bearcats scored another run on a sacrifice fly. The game was broken open in the sixth inning when the Bearcats scored five more runs but the Knights answered back in the seventh inning as they tried to get back in the game. A two-run triple by
Justin Aponte and a wild pitch cut the lead down to 7-3 but the Bearcats countered back with another run.
Teonis Pimentel scored on a wild pitch in the top of the eighth inning to get one run back but the Bearcats put up six runs in the bottom half of the inning and forced the mercy rule as the Knights lost 14-4.

Justin Aponte went 2-for-3 at the plate.
