GREENWOOD, S.C. - The Knights were back on the diamond on Saturday, February 14th as they were set to wrap up their series against the Bearcats of Lander University. Saturday turned into a doubleheader after the threat of rain moved Sunday's game up one day.
Game One

The Knights looked ready to play as
Teonis Pimentel led off the game with a solo home run to put the Knights up 1-0. The Bearcats came back in the bottom half of the inning and scored three runs and added on another run in the second inning. Pimentel hit another solo home run in the third inning to cut the lead down to 4-2 but the Bearcats added another three runs in the fourth inning. The Knights came back in the fifth inning to score four runs on an error, a two-run double by
Tate Abbott, and an RBI double by Seabstian Collender to make it a 7-6 game. The Bearcats answered back with four runs of their own but the Knights were resilient as they scored five runs in the sixth inning on an RBi single by
Luke Davis,a two-run double by Abbott, and a two-run single by Collender as the game was now tied at 11-11. The game went into the ninth inning when the Knights scored five runs on an RBI double by
Jonathan Bay, an error by the Bearcats, and RBI singles by Davis,
Mikal Ashley, and Abbott. The Bearcats made an attempt at a comeback as they scored three runs in the bottom half of the inning but the Knights were able to hold on for the 16-14 win.

Mikal Ashley was 4-for-4 at the plate while
Teonis Pimentel,
Tate Abbott, and
Sebastian Collender each went 3-for-6.
Game Two
Game Recap
The momentum for the Knights carried over into the second game of the day as they scored two runs in the second inning on a sacrifice fly and a wild pitch. Another run came across in the fourth inning on a wild pitch and the Knights held a 3-0 lead until the Bearcats scored four runs in the bottom half fo the inning. A solo home run by
Luke Davis in the fifth inning tied the game at 4-4 and the Knights grabbed the lead in the sixth inning on a sacrifice fly by
Garrett Frost. The Bearcats scored three runs in the bottom half of the inning to retake the lead but the Knights scored two runs in the eighth inning on a wild pitch and an RBI single by
Mikal Ashley as they tied the game at 7-7. The Bearcats answered back in the bottom of the eighth inning with five runs and the Knights could not come back as they lost 12-7.
What's Up Next
The Knights head to Mount Vernon, Georgia on Tuesday, February 17th to take on the Barons of Brewton-Parker Christian University. First pitch is scheduled for 3 PM EST.
