COCHRAN, Ga. – The Knights were back at home on Wednesday, February 25th as they hosted the Cougars of Columbus State University. The Knights had a two-game losing streak heading into Wednesday's game while the Cougars were on a five game winning streak.
Game Recap
Defense was the name of the game early for the Knights as they jumped out to an early lead. They held the lead for the first 9:38 of the game until the Cougars tied the game at 14-14 with 10:22 remaining in the first half. The Cougars kept scoring and went up by ten points but the Knights used a ten point run to tie the game at 25-25. The Knights continued to score as they pulled ahead by four points and went into halftime up 31-27.
The Knights built their lead up to seven points early in the second half before the Cougars used an eight point run to take a one point lead. The lead swapped hands multiple times before the Knights went up by six points but the Cougars answered back and tied the game late. Both teams had opportunities late to pull ahead but the game went into overtime.
In overtime, the Knights built an early four point lead. The Cougars defense turned up the pressure while the offense made their shots and the Knights went on to lose 84-77.
