HARDEEVILLE, S.C. - The Knights were back in action on Sunday, April 12th as they were set to wrap up their weekend series with the Sand Sharks of USC-Beaufort. The Knights were looking to salvage a win after losing the first two games of the series as the win would put them in the Peach Belt Conference Tournament with the Knights holding the tiebreaker over Flagler College.
Game Recap
The Sand Sharks got the scoring started in the first inning after an error allowed the first run of the game to score. The Sand Sharks added another run in the third inning as the Knights found themselves down 2-0. The Knights finally got on the scoreboard in the fifth inning with an RBI groundout from
Madison Cosgrove as they cut the lead down to 2-1. After the Sand Sharks scored a run in the bottom of the fifth inning, the Knights answered back with an RBI single from
Caroline Albritton to get back within one run. The Knights went into the seventh inning having to score at least one run to extend the game and got some help from the defense as they scored one run off of an error by the Sand Sharks and two bases loaded walks brought home the go ahead runs as the Knights led 5-3. The Knights held off the Sand Sharks in the bottom of the seventh inning as they came away with the 5-3 win.

Nayeli Hernandez had two hits at the plate.
CJ McBride got the win for the Knights, throwing a complete game and giving up eight hits.

The Knights will be back on the road for their next series as they head to Americus, Georgia to take on the Hurricanes of Georgia Southwestern on Friday, April 17th. First pitch is scheduled for 6 PM EST.
