COCHRAN, Ga. - The Knights were back home at Stuckey Field on Thursday, April 2nd as they hosted the Cougars of Columbus State University. The Knights had were on a four-game losing streak and looking to come through with a win to break the streak.
Game Recap
Teonis Pimentel led off the first inning for the Knights with a single and a sacrifice bunt moved him over to second but he was thrown out trying to advance on a fly out to end the early threat. The Knights had another threat in the second inning after singles by
Sebastian Collender and
Patrick Crosby led off the inning. After two outs,
Christian Dillard hit a three-run home run to put the Knights up 3-0 and they scored two more runs in the inning on an error and an RBI triple by
Justin Aponte. The Knights scored another run in the fourth inning on an RBI single by Aponte to go up 6-0. The Cougars answered back in the fifth inning with two runs and added another run in the seventh inning to cut the lead down to 6-3. The Knights extended their lead in the bottom half of the inning with an RBI single by
Seve Fernandez and a bases loaded walk by
Luke Davis to go up 8-3. The Knights bullpen closed out the game to give the Knights the win.
