HARDEEVILLE, S.C. - The Knights were back on the diamond on Saturday, April 25th as they played the second game of their series with the Sand Sharks of USC-Beaufort. The Knights won the first game of the series and were looking to clinch the series with a win.
Game Recap
The Sand Sharks scored first in the bottom of the first inning but the Knights came back in the third inning to score four runs on a two-run double by
Sebastian Collender, a sacrifice fly by
Cam Cooper, and scored on an error by the Sand Sharks. The Sand Sharks tied the game with two runs in the bottom of the third inning and one run in the fifth inning as the game moved to the final innings. The Knights blew the game open in the seventh inning after scoring on an error, RBI singles by
Cam Cooper,
Luke Davis, and
Christian Dillard, an RBI double by
Dayton Taylor, and a double steal. The Sand Sharks got one run back in the bottom of the inning but a two-run double by
Dayton Taylor extended the lead. The Sand Sharks added another run in the ninth inning but the Knights hung on to win 12-6.
Notable Performances
Patrick Crosby and
Sebastian Collender each had three hits at the plate while
Luke Davis and
Dayton Taylor each had two hits.
Steven Sams came away with the win, throwing 4 and 1/3 innings out of the bullpen, allowing four hits and striking out four batters.

The Knights will wrap up their series with the Sand Sharks as they also await the results from the Flagler College/Augusta University series to find out if they will make it into the PBC Tournament. First pitch is scheduled for 1 PM EST.
