DAHLONEGA, Ga. - The Knights headed out to Dahlonega, Georgia on Friday, May 1st to play their first game of the Peach Belt Conference Tournament. The Knights entered the tournament as the 8-seed and were set to take on the 1-seed Nighthawks of North Georgia. The Knights were swept in the regular season by the Nighthawks and looked to surprise the host team.
Game Recap
The Knights had a tough outing as the Nighthawks loaded the bases in the first inning but the Knights struck out the last two batters of the inning to get out of the jam. The Knights responded in the top of the second inning with singles from
Mikal Ashley,
Tate Abbott, and
Cam Cooper as Cooper drove Ashley in to put the Knights up 1-0. The lead did not last long as the Nighthawks answered back with five runs in the bottom half of the inning. The Nighthawks scored one run in the third and fifth innings and two runs in the seventh inning as the Knights were unable to sustain any offense throughout the rest of the game as they lost 9-1.

The Knights will be back on the field on Saturday, May 2nd as they will play the 5-seed Hurricanes of Georgia Southwestern. First pitch is scheduled for 3 PM EST.
