SAINT LEO, Fla. - The Knights got back out on the pitch on Saturday, August 29th as they wrapped up their Florida road trip with a match against Saint Leo University. The Knights were coming off of a tough loss to open the season while the Lions were coming off of a loss of their own.
The Lions controlled the match from the start as the Knights were unable to record a shot in the first half.
Hollie Keefe kept the Lions off the scoreboard as she made four saves in the half to keep the score at 0-0. The Lions continued to play keep away with the Knights until the Knights got off their first shot of the match in the 64th minute but it missed left of goal. The Lions offense started to come together as they poured on shots. One shot eventually found the back of the net in the 78th minute as the Knights fell behind 1-0. The Knights were able to push in the final 10 minutes of the match and fire off two shots but both were saved by the Lions goalkeeper and the Knights lost 1-0.
The loss drops the Knights to 0-2 on the season as they move on in search of their first win of the season on Wednesday, September 2nd against Valdosta State University. Kick off is scheduled for 6 PM EST.
