COCHRAN, Ga. - The Knights were back on their home pitch on Wednesday, September 23rd as they hosted the Bearcats of Lander University. The Knights were coming off of their first Peach Belt Conference win of the season and looked to make it two in a row against a Lander team that defeated them three times last season including the PBC Tournament.
The Bearcats controlled possession of the ball in the first half as the Knights had zero shot attempts. The Bearcats scored three goals in the span of 7:16 to take a 3-0 lead into halftime. The Knights offense found some rhythm in the second half as Javier Gongora scored in the 54th minute to cut the lead to 3-1. The Bearcats scored three minutes later to take back the three goal advantage but a goal by
Noah Romyanond two minutes later got the Knights back within two goals. The Bearcats sealed the match with another goal in the 82nd minute as the Knights lost 5-2.
The Knights fall to 3-5-1, 1-2-1 PBC on the season as they hit the road for their next match on Saturday, September 26th against North Georgia. Kick off is scheduled for 3:30 PM EST.
