GAINESVILLE, GA - The women's tennis team defeated the #5 Brenau University Golden Tigers 5-4 on Sunday the 17th taking 2 of 3 doubles and splitting the singles 3 to 3. The #12 Knights improve to 6-3 on the season and 5-2 against ranked NAIA teams.
The Knights lost #1 Doubles but took #2 and #3 Doubles to lead 2-1 after the doubles were complete. Lara Persiani and Luciana Pereyra took #2 doubles 8-3 while Jacqueline Heer and Andjela Rajovic won 8-5 at #3 Doubles. In singles, Maike Nagele won at #1 singles 4-6, 7-5, 6-1 over Pijls. Pereyra won 6-1, 6-2 at the #3 spot over Zambrano and Franziska Nobis won at #4 singles 6-3, 7-6.
The Knights next match is Tuesday, March 19th against unranked McPherson College at 1PM as the men will also be in action facing #19 McPherson at the same time at the John Drew Smith Tennis Center in Macon, GA.
