Women's Tennis Falls to #10 SCAD-Savannah

SAVANNAH, GA - The women's tennis team lost a tight match to the #10 SCAD-Savannah Bees on Thursday the 21st by a score of 7-2 dropping all 3 doubles and 4 of the 6 singles matches with several tiebreakers and 3-set matches.  The Knights are now 7-4 on the season with 2 of the 4 losses to top 10 teams.  

The women lost #1 and #3 doubles by scores of 8-6 and #2 doubles 9-8 with a tiebreaker score of 7-5.  After falling behind 3-0, the Knights lost the #6 singles first with Heer losing 6-3,6-4.  Nagele took a rare loss at #1 6-5, 6-2 in the next match to finish as the match was clinched 5-0 for the Bees.  Andjela Rajovic was the next to finish winning in a 3rd set tiebreak 6-2, 6-7 (6-8), 10-3 for the first point.  Nobis lost at #4 in 6-0 in the first but 7-6 (9-7) in the second to make it close.  Lara Persiani got the second point for the Knights at #5 winning 6-3, 1-6, 6-4.  Pereyra was the final match to finish at #3 singles with a loss 3-6, 6-4, 6-4.

The Knights return home to host (RV) Northwestern Ohio at 11:00 AM on Friday, March 22 at the John Drew Smith Tennis Center in Macon, GA.  The next match after Friday will be April 5 as the Knights face Martin Methodist and Bethel for their final two SSAC matchups.  The Knights are 3-1 in SSAC play with a loss to #9 William Carey early in the season.  With a pair of wins and a William Carey loss, the Knights have a chance to win the regular season championship.  The Crusaders still have to play #14 Mobile, #20 Loyola, and Blue Mountain to finish their conference play.
