MOBILE, AL - The 7th ranked and 2-seed women's tennis team downed #14 Loyola University 5-2 to reach the SSAC Finals on April 26th at 9am Eastern for rematch with 4th ranked and 1-seed William Carey University. The Knights won 4 of the 6 singles and finished with a win at #3 Doubles for the 5-2 victory. Maike Nagele took the #1 singles match 6-4,6-0 while Andjela Rajovic finished off her match at #2 singles 6-3,6-4. Franziska Nobis won #4 singles 6-2,6-1 and Jacqueline Heer won at #6 singles 6-2,6-0. Luciana Pereyra lost at #3 and Lara Persiani at #5 singles in 3 sets each. Leading 4-2, Heer and Naegle clinched the win with an 8-2 win in the #3 doubles spot for a 5-2 team win.
The Knights #4 William Carey in a rematch of the 2nd match of the season for the Knights and first SSAC regular season match for both teams on March 14, a match won by the Crusaders 6-3. That was the only SSAC loss for the Knights on the season as they have won 11 of their last 13 matches on the way to the Finals.
