Box Score Columbus, GA - The Knights were back on the field for the SSAC Tournament in Columbus, Georgia on Thursday after suffering a disappointing loss in the first game. The Knights were set to take on the Tornadoes of Talladega College. The Knights defeated the Tornadoes two out of three times during the regular season and were looking to beat them again. The Knights would be the first team on the scoreboard as they would score five runs in the second inning after an error would allow the first run to score, a Rafael Gomez JR RBI single, and a Justin Brooks three run home run. The Knights would maintain the 5-0 lead until the fourth inning when the Tornadoes would get two runs back from the Knights. The Knights would extend their lead in the seventh inning as they would get a sacrifice fly from Gomez Jr to take the 6-2 lead. The Knights would add on to their lead in the ninth inning after a lead off double from Andrew Krauss would set up Gomez Jr for the two run home run as the Knights would go ahead 8-2 and win the game by the same score. The Knights will be back in action on Friday, May 6th as they will take on the loser of the 1-seed Faulkner University and 4-seed Brewton-Parker College game. First pitch is scheduled for 1 PM EST.
