7/16/2026 10:00:00 AM

COCHRAN, Ga.- Middle Georgia State head baseball coach Paul Knight has announced the hiring of Caleb Lanoux as the program's new assistant coach. A two-time MGA alumni and all-time leader in career saves, Lanoux returns to his alma mater as the program is poised to enter year two of the NCAA provisional membership process.

Lanoux is finishing his third summer campaign as head coach in the Coastal Collegiate Baseball League in his hometown of Jacksonville, Florida. Outside of his summer coaching commitment Lanoux has spent the past two collegiate seasons on staff at Brewton Parker Christian University in Mount Vernon, Georgia as a pitching coach and recruiting coordinator.

Prior to his stint with the Barons Lanoux began his collegiate coaching career on staff for MGA as a graduate assistant following his playing career. Lanoux served the Knights as a first-base coach and assisted with player evaluation, recruiting, practice planning and the day-to-day operations as a graduate assistant for the '23 and '24 seasons.

"I'm thrilled to have Caleb returning to MGA," said head coach Paul Knight. "He brings knowledge and experience that will be invaluable to our program and pitching staff. As a former pitcher and catcher, Caleb has great feel for both positions which provides great insight into the development of the pitching staff. I know the relationships he builds with our players will be outstanding. Caleb is determined, professional, and knowledgeable. His loyalty and respect for MGA Baseball gives me great confidence about the significance of his impact to our coaching staff and team."

Prior to beginning his coaching career Lanoux was an outstanding late-inning reliever for the Knights as he earned All-Conference first-team accolades in the Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) as a junior during the '21 season. Prior to competing for the Knights Lanoux suited up for Seminole State College of Florida and Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College.

He earned both a bachelor's and master's degree from MGA in Sports Management.

Lanoux will officially begin his duties with Middle Georgia State on August 3rd.
